Our name, Mossy Brake Camp, is actually a vivid description of our location on Caddo Lake. Although not known to most folks, a “brake” is a group of trees, closely spaced, so as to almost form an island in the shallow. swampy waters of Caddo Lake.Frens, moss, and other parasitic fauna grow from and around the trees, eventually covering the water with a semi-submerged layer of growth. The term is used in almost any large swamp region.
The original camp was built near a mossy brake. We are Mossy Brake Camp Caddo Lake Boat Tours!
Much of the area was a Caddo Indian ceremonial grounds. Now, it is a unique ambiance for your enjoyment.
